Gloria Rolando: A Retrospective Filmmaker – Filmmaker Rolando in Attendance!

Screenings begin at 7:30pm in the UWM Union Theatre.

The UWM Film Department welcomes Afro-Cuban filmmaker Gloria Rolando whose award-winning films exquisitely dramatize the complex histories of the Afro-Cubans and their shared histories with Haitian, Panamanian and Jamaican laborers.

Rolando will present three nights of films, work from across 1996-2014. Screenings will include 1912: Breaking The Silence, about the massacre of immigrants exploited by Cuba’s sugar industry.
