UWM Symphony Orchestra and Choirs Concert

November 15, 2013 - November 16, 2013

Performances begin at 7:30pm each night. Seating to begin at 7:15pm.

Concert programs to include:
– Wagner, Die Meistersinger , Lohengrin and Siegfried Idyll (to commemorate Wagner’s Bicentennial Anniversary)

– Mechem: Songs of the Slave (to commemorate the Bicentennial Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation)

– Fri, Nov 15, 6:30pm: Kirke Mechem, Composer, “Origins and Genesis of Songs of the Slave” at Bader Concert Hall

– Sat, Nov 16, 6:30pm: Dr. Robert Smith, UWM History Department, “The Civil War: John Brown, Frederick Douglass, and How the Arts Provide Perspective”
