Finger-style guitarist Woody Mann will discuss the guitar styles and techniques of Reverend Gary Davis, the essential role of country blues in America’s musical history, and the importance of including country blues in the study of finger-style guitar as a curriculum for musical inspiration and creativity. Open to the public: $10 general admission payable at the door; UWM students free with ID.  This lecture is made possible, in part, through the generous support of the William F. Vilas Trust.

Unruly Music: Suono Mobile USA

Suono Mobile USA, established in 2012 by composer Philipp Blume and saxophonist Nathan Mandel, will present a brand-new mixed chamber ensemble program entitled ‘Versions.’ The program features Michael Finnissy’s Halbnackt (2007) and also includes two world premieres.
